The purpose of this post is to show that all things are possible with God. There are many people that believe their addictions are too strong to break or that they can never be truly free from their addictions. But there are people that can testify that God delivered them from their addictions and they did not need rehab.

David Drieling

My addiction: Marijuana and prescriptions pills.

How were you delivered? I stopped after a near-fatal car accident. I immersed myself in God and changed my lifestyle. I dedicated my life to God, got baptized and started going to church. I changed my environment and the people I hung around and never did drugs again. That was 4 years ago.

Neil Singleton

My addiction: Black-n -Mild’s

How long were you addicted? I’ve smoked them since the age of 14 until I was 25 years old.

How were you delivered?  I used to always go to the store to buy one but one day God told me not to. He said that if I took one step he would help me break the habit. That was 4 years ago.

Lisa Davilla

My addiction: A four-year habit of cocaine.

How were you delivered? I prayed for God to take me out of this mess of a life, and I haven’t looked back since. Been free for 6 years.

Nathan King

My addictions: Everything, sex, women, drugs, snake worship, pornography.

How were you delivered? I started smoking at the age of 6 and from there started doing drugs heavily from 2001 to 2008? God set me free one night at a prayer and deliverance service back in 2008.

Sheena Green

I was delivered at a young adult service at VWC. I was four months pregnant at the time and went to the greeting area for first-time visitors and spoke to the Pastor Johnson Bowie. I began to tell him that I was a dancer and had become pregnant with twins and wanted to have an abortion. He got one of the leaders, Dede Nesbit, to pray for me. She prayed for me and encouraged me. It really helped me to make the decision to stop dancing. I never went back to work after that day. Because I was no longer dancing my phone was cut off but Avery and Dede paid my phone bill so I could look for a job and I got a job at waffle house and worked there throughout the rest of my pregnancy. That was 3 and a half years ago.

Christine Dixion

My addictions: Alcohol and Drugs

How were you delivered?  I started smoking marijuana at the age of 14 and my habit progressed to cocaine by the age of 21. God told me to get involved at church. I started attending small groups, seminars, classes, and that’s where the healing began. I started making better decisions and choices when I changed my environment. “I knew if I stopped drinking everything else would stop. First I stopped going to the package store. I would also hear God say put cigarettes out. After a while, I wasn’t drinking, and I wasn’t smoking.”
