Man raised in the church affirms it works.

By Charles Walker

“I always felt that I didn’t have a testimony because I didn’t have this story of how I was in the world and God snatched me out of it,” said Dexter Culbreath, a 32-year-old native of Atlanta, GA.

Dexter proudly proclaims “I have been living for God since day one and it works”.

Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.  Dexter believes firmly in this scripture because this is how he was raised.

“I was brought up in the church and went to church every Sunday.”

Growing up, he was very active in the church. He sang in the children’s choir, then later led the young adult choir, and has spent many years serving with the youth ministry.

“I was brought up having church instilled in me. I was brought up knowing all the laws, what not to do but not really having a relationship with God. I knew who Jesus was. I knew he was awesome, I knew he was the man but there was no relationship “.  There came a point in Dexter’s walk where he was looking for more. He said he went to a very religious church where he knew all the laws and rules. But after some searching he found a church where he was able to build a relationship with God.

Today Dexter is  happily married to Quiana Culbreath , has a beautiful one year old daughter Eden, is loving God, enjoying life and still very active in the children’s ministry at Victory World Church in Norcross.

“I’m married and have a baby and now it’s time to do the same for her and bring her up in the ways of the Lord so when she is older she won’t depart from it.”
